The Home Builders are proud to announce that they are the recipients of the Giving Heart Award, presented by Cleveland Association of Volunteer Administrators (CAVA) and the United Way. The Home Builders were nominated by the Children's Homes of Cleveland County and won the award in the "group" category.
"The Hog Happnin' Board of Directors was formed from the Home Builders Association of Cleveland County to plan the event called the Hog Happnin'. This event consists of a competition BBQ cook off, car show, motorcycle show, craft fair, entertainment and BBQ meal that raises money for charity. This event has been held for the past 12 years and has raised more than $125,000 for various charities. The six members of the Board of Directors and members of the Home Builders contribute 1300+ hours volunteer time. The Hog Happnin' committee works all year long planning, communicating and coordinating with participants of this event to make it something that families can enjoy and to make it financially rewarding for the charity. These men and women take great pride in making sure the Hog Happnin' is safe and good clean fun. While our agency (Children's Homes of Cleveland County) is the financial beneficiary, the community is the beneficiary in the larger sense because this is an event that gives one more good reason to be proud we live in Cleveland County."
