Hog Happnin' is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS), whose rules are followed in choosing our winners and Grand Champion.
We expect over 80 BBQ teams representing up to 15 states.
More than 100 Certified BBQ judges come to Hog Happnin' from all parts of the country. "It's our favorite contest," many have said.
You'll see "home-made" oil drum cookers behind pick-ups and custom "over-the-road rigs" pulled by fancy motor homes and everything in between. You've seen many of these teams on TV. Now see them in person.

Funds raised support Hog Happnin' charities, including Children's Homes of Cleveland County, American Red Cross, Kiwanis Club and other charities and local public service organizations.
KCBS categories include Poultry, Pork Ribs, BBQ Pork, and Beef Brisket. For KCBS rules please go to www.kcbs.us. We also have a Best BBQ Sauce competition. A custom hardwood door goes to the Grand and Reserve Champs as well as to each first-place winner. Cash prizes will be awarded through tenth place in all KCBS categories.
